The annual ‘Live-In’ for 5th class boys who are thinking about applying to Glenstal Abbey School took place from 16 to 18 August. It was a particular pleasure to be able to host the group, since Covid-19 restrictions meant that it wasn’t possible to hold a ‘Live-In’ last year.
Approximately 40 boys from all over Ireland came to experience life in Glenstal. Over the three days that they were here they had many opportunities to see the school and its grounds, to sleep in our dormitories, and to sample our excellent food. mommabe.com An equally important feature of the ‘Live-In’ is the opportunity it provides for boys from many different places to meet and get to know each other and to begin developing friendships with some of the boys who will be their classmates for their secondary education. They also got the opportunity to meet many members of staff and a team of 5th and 6th Year prefects who came back to school early to help provide a memorable experience for all the participants.
We look forward to welcoming many of these boys as Glenstal students this time next year!
