Talk: ‘Opening to the Divine Light’

Opening to the Divine Light is an opportunity to explore the Transfiguration of the Lord with the monks of Glenstal Abbey on Saturday 11th February from 10am – 5pm.

Jesus took three disciples to a place where they could be alone with him, and there he was transfigured before their eyes. The day is an invitation to come away and explore the Transfiguration: the voice that comes from heaven, the light that makes us divine. Participants will have an immersive encounter exploring the Gospel through the text, chant, art and liturgy.

Talks include:

* ‘The Transfiguration of the Lord in the Rule of Benedict’ by Luke Macnamara OSB;

* ‘Vox de nube – attuning to the Lord in Chant’ by Senan Furlong OSB;

* ‘Transfiguring Encounter in Mosaic and Icon’ by Luke Macnamara OSB;

* ‘Liturgy of the Transfiguration and Personal Transfiguration’ by Columba McCann OSB.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Suggest donation: €70. For further details contact events@glenstal.com or telephone 061 621005.
